`17th July - Ainsdale Beach Trip
On Monday 17th July we left sunny Salford for the exotic climate of Southport to spend the day at Ainsdale Beach. The sun shone down on us all day as we had lots of fun in the sand. Have a look at what we got up to in the pictures below.
Greater Manchester Mayoral Election 2017
We having been learning all about democracy in class and how we are all responsible for ensuring our country is ruled in a way that is fair and just for everyone. As part of our learning we learned all about elections and how democracy means choosing representatives to make our decisions for us. We looked at the Manchester Mayoral elections and how they will shape our city region.
As part of this we grouped ourselves and formed our own political parties. We elected a leader of each party and then began to think about ways in which we could make Greater Manchester better. These were our policies which we then wrote in our Party manifestos. Each party nominated a candidate to stand in our own Mayoral election. They had to explain to the voters what they would do to ensure Manchester was a great place to live. They then took questions before the electorate voted.
Louie-Jay Snell was elected as our mayor.
