Autumn

Well done to all Year 6 who took part in the CAFOD’s Advent fund raising event recently at school on Thursday 1st December. The class decided to raise money for the charity by taking penalties at Mr Kilkenny and Mrs Such whilst also getting themselves involved in a treasure hunt around the playground in school. It was great fun and we managed to raise £60 in the process. Great work Year 6 and congratulations to those children who found the stars in the treasure hunt!

A huge thank you to Jeremy from ‘Judaism with Jeremy’ who came into school on the Wednesday the 19th October to celebrate Multi-Faith week with Year 6. The children were taught lots a wonderful information about Jewish home life and the synagogue.

We would also like to thank the parents of Year 6 that made it to the Open Morning and Father James and Simeon who discussed the Jewish faith and its links to Christianity to the class. Thanks for all you participation.

A big thank you to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service who came into school Friday afternoon to talk to Year 6 and Year 5 about keeping safe this autumn. Please click on the link below to find out more about Bonfire night and more. Thanks again!

Stay Safe this autumn

On Friday 7th October the whole school dressed in bright colours and gave a donation of a pound to Cafod. We also looked at the crisis that is taking place currently in Syria and what life was like for a refugee. Take a look at the pictures below.

To celebrate Black History month, we were privileged to have Zulu Nation visit our school. It was a fantastic day of dancing and singing and will be remembered for a long, long time. Check out the images below.

As part of our electricity work in science we have carried out lots of investigations into what effect adding and taking components out of electrical circuits has on bulbs. In a few weeks time we are going to design our own game using what we have learnt so far.

As part of our Victorian topic in Year 6 we have been researching all about Queen Victoria's life for a biography. We also learned  about the search engine, Google and how it collects data from all over the world and places it on a web page when we look for information.
