Transition at Holy Family

For many parents the thought of their child starting school for the first time can be a very scary and a worrying time. At Holy Family we ensure we have excellent transition procedures in place to ensure all children settle into their new class with ease.

Transition to High School

It is never too early to start thinking about applying for a high school for your child. Already the deadline for an application of a place for the year 6 children is approaching (31st October 2016). You will hear of an offer of a place in spring term 2017.

Our transition procedures for our year 5 and 6 pupils have already started. Back in September Miss Teasdale (transition mentor) visited our school to talk to the children and parents about All Hallows. Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend as I know you found this a really useful experience and I hope you have shared the information you have received to parents that unfortunately could not make it.

Transition Questionnaires

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who completed a questionnaire and returned it.

We asked for your opinions with regards to our transition arrangements in helping your child settle smoothly into our school.

You said you were extremely happy with the current arrangements but would like more stay and play sessions.

We will use your suggestions to adapt our current transition arrangements for our next new intake of children.

Thank you for your thoughts, they have been really useful.
